He had been the most seasoned enduring previous Cabinet individual from any organization.

WASHINGTON — President Ronald Reagan’s long-term secretary of state, George P. Shultz, who burned through the greater part of the 1980s attempting to improve relations with the Soviet Union and fashioning a course for harmony in the Middle East, has kicked the bucket. He was 100.
